The climate in Peru is varied, depending on which region and month of the year you visit.
The coast ranges from warm to cold at the winter (April-August), although can be cloudy and cool, does not have rainfall; the climate is influenced by Humboldt Current. Temperature ranges from 8°C (46.4°F ) to 30 °C (86.0 °F).

The Andes has diversity of climate among the year. There are two main season Rainy Season (November to April) and Dry season (May to October). Rainfall is also larger over mountain ranges than over valley floors. Temperature ranges from 18 °C (64 °F) to 0 °C (32 °F) the lowest temperatures is showed during dry season.

Actually In Peru is difficult to accurately predict the weather also due the global warming. You can have a beautifully clear hot day in the middle of the wet season and hail storms in the middle of the dry season. Is important to know that the weather is very unpredictable and it’s difficult to foresee.

The popular time to visit Machu Picchu and Cusco region is during the dry season (April to October) sunny blue skies are common. Also between June and August Machu Picchu could be quiet crowded.

Visit to Machu Picchu during the rainy season (November-March) has advantages as well, absolutely there is chance of rain, but the Machupicchu is not too crowded and you may have spectacular scenery along the mountain and trail, flowers are in bloom, countryside and mountains are in green.

April, May, September, and October has generally good weather and is regularly crowded.

Before traveling to Peru you must to consult at your local clinic. Some region of Peru is requested the Yellow Fever vaccine, also can be recommended Tetanus, Diphtheria, etc.

Our treks are moderate to difficult, some days are easier than the other and there is different altitude along the trail.

We recommend should be relatively fit and mostly acclimatized to altitude before start the trek.

Is the health effect caused by rapid exposure to low amounts of oxygen at high elevation, is going quickly to high altitude, symptoms can be headaches and vomiting.

Our body need to adapt to the decrease of oxygen, to prevent the altitude sickness we recommend to have at least two days to have proper acclimatization, properly hydrating, avoid tobacco and alcohol during the firsts days also have rest day at the beginning.

The number of visitors permitted to Machu Picchu is 2500 persons per day, nevertheless every year could be any change to let every traveler visit which depends of the Government.

The number of visitors permitted to Inca Trail is 500 persons per day (including porters and guides) and it is definitely and strongly limited. It is highly recommended to book in advance, mostly during the high season.

Even to hike the Huaynapicchu Mountain the tickets are very limited too.

The entry times are organized as follows:

  • 06:00am to 12:00pm
  • 12:00pm to 05:00pm

There is no waiting list on Inca Trail permits; if a passenger cancels their space is not given to anybody else. Anyway there are other options of trek which are offered and include a visit to Machupicchu.

To visit Machupicchu you need to have the same ID (passport in this case) you used to book to enter the park.

The maximum allowed group size is 16. Nevertheless our group tours are small groups.

Along the Inca Trail, most of the campsites have toilets and they are mostly clean. On the other treks there are toilets facilities too but it can be informed at your briefing or before your trek.

Every day you are provided an energetic and nutritive Menu (meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, rice, etc. which includes a snack to eat whilst trekking, this is usually something like a power bar and fruit.

Also there are vegetarian options and we will be happy to make it for you, but it must be advised in advance.

First you will arrive to Lima which is the capital, and then you should fly to Cusco city where our base of operations is.

Once you arrived to Cusco, you will be welcomed at Cusco airport and taken to your hotel, we need you inform us of your full flight details at least 7 days prior to your arrival.

Once you book your trek or tour, we will give you the information. Also once you arrive to Cusco we will organize a meeting to explain your Itinerary and you can ask any question or doubts.

Your luggage or main suitcase can be stored at your hotel or also at our office.

  • To book a tour we need the following information:
  • Personal information (your full name as on your passport)
  • Gender
  • Passport number
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Deposit of 50% (amount depends on which trek or tour)

 

This payment is to ensure your tickets or permits in advance, entrances to Machupicchu, train, hotel and reservations for your tour or trek.

For Inca Trail, unfortunately is not possible. The Government does not allow any changes and they are non-refundable/non-transferable.

Regarding alternative treks, is possible to change for an extra fee, but also please check if there is an open day of departure.

For train tickets can be change only if there is availability and also the train company requests an extra payment.

* If you cancel your trek or tour, the first deposit is not refundable at all.

You must carry your original passport; it is required to enter at any park even to take the train or bus. Is very important to have the same passport (number) you sent to us to book your Inca Trail or Machu Picchu entrance ticket or any other tour.

In case you are renewing your passport after you booked, please send us your old and new passport information and we can make the change for an extra fee requested by the Government office. If you do not like to pay this fee, please bring your old and new passports to Peru with you.

The Government is very strict about the passport; must be the same, even they will not allow you to enter the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu or get on the train.
